The Tropical Garden (Jardim Tropical), known also as Jardim do Ultramar, is a marvelous, most outstanding garden in Lisbon. It contains the extremely rare tropical and subtropical plants and trees from all over the world. Many of them are threaten with extinction.
Among presented species the most interesting are: the dragon trees from Canary Islands and Madeira, the monkey puzzle trees from South Africa (Chile), a large variety of Lauraceaes from Madeira and Azores, and a palm trees. Apart from these unusual plants in a garden are placed numbers of lovely ponds and monumental statues.
