Museu de Arte Moderna Berardo is located in the Exhibition Centre of Centro Cultural de Belém. It houses an unusual collection of artworks amassed through many years by the Portuguese magnate Joe Berardo, who wanted to create a museum with his vast collection. The Museum was opened for the public in June 2007. First exhibition contained over the 800 works of the Berardo's collection which estimate about 4000 artworks. The part of it is also displayed in the Modern Art Museum of Sintra.

The Museum's exhibition spreads over two floors and contains the paintings, sculptures, photography and instalaciones. It includes the most important and significant artworks of artists such as Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Francis Bacon, Joan Miró, René Magritte, Jeff Koons, and others.

The Museum, apart from its permanent expositions, organizes also temporary displays. The main goal of these both is to let people know more about the modern art and increase their interest in that field.
