Railways in Lisbon


Lisbon is a charming and interesting city, and incessantly attract many people, who want to spend even a few days in this marvelous Portuguese town. To Lisbon is possible to get by different means of transportation and one of them is to travel by train.

The main Railway Stations in Lisbon are: Santa Apolónia, Gare do Orient, Rossio and Cais do Sodre. All stations are located close to a direct bus and underground leading to the center of the city.

Railways in Lisbon are operated by Comboios de Portugal, and like others transports here, they are well-developed. They are the part of European railway network and provide the best, fast and direct connections to most of the European cities.

With this Railways you can also easy get to many places in Portugal, i.ex. to Porto, Coimbra or Aveiro. At your disposal are trains of various standard: an exclusive line "Alfa", Intercity, Regional trains, etc.

The railways network in Lisbon offers also good connections to the places of interest that are located in the neighbourhood of Lisbon. There are four lines, which could get you to: Azambuja, Cascais, Sintra and Sado.
